For Chicagoans who enjoy reading and meaningful conversation, Lit Society by Bond & Grace is bringing its Reading Salon: Rituals to River North on Sunday, November 22, 2026.
Hosted at Clandestino Cocktail Social Club, the afternoon combines independent reading, guided discussion, brunch, and an opportunity to meet fellow book lovers in an intimate setting.
A Different Kind of Sunday Social
Rather than asking everyone to read the same book, Lit Society takes a more personalized approach.
Before attending, guests complete a short quiz to discover their Lit Society reader archetype. Each participant then receives a curated selection of books related to the month’s theme, Rituals, and chooses one to bring to the gathering.
Books can be brought in print or digital format.
The afternoon begins with a quiet communal reading hour, followed by guided conversations about the books and ideas participants have explored.
The gathering concludes with a social mixer, giving guests an opportunity to meet readers with different interests and perspectives.
Reading, Connection, and Conversation
Designed as a relaxed alternative to traditional networking events, the salon welcomes participants who enjoy thoughtful discussion without the pressure of formal introductions.
No advance reading is required, and sharing during the discussion is optional.
Brunch is included with admission, and attendance is limited to maintain the intimate atmosphere.
For visitors and Chicago residents interested in literary experiences, the salon offers an opportunity to explore the city’s cultural and social scene beyond conventional attractions.
